About Pacific:

Pre-UIGEA, Pacific Poker & 888 were two of the world's biggest poker brands. Following the UIGEA in 2006, the sites were hit hard as they made an informed decision to leave the US market. However, the Pacific network is now making a comeback! Recently the network signed a licencing agreement with WSOP, which bodes well for the future, considering plans to legalise and regulate online poker in the United States. Furthermore, new webcam tables and a user friendly poker client makes it a network frequented by casual players.

The Low Down:

Software

Pacific certainly isn't known as a network with industry leading software, but we've been incredibly impressed with the latest developments. Aside from being extremely light and easy to run, it's also extremely clean cut and functional. Unlike other Euro networks, Pacific allows users to choose from numerous themes and upload their own avatars. Pacific players even enjoy the use of a time bank—something you'll struggle to find at other Euro networks.

Game Softness

Pacific has taken a lot of steps to ensure that it is one of the softest networks around. They’ve recently severed ties with smaller skins who don’t bring in recreational players and getting licences like WSOP on board will hopefully ensure it stays this way. The network is also home to the world famous 888 brand, and recently installed WebCam tables, coupled with a strong marketing campaign, has made the network the first choice for many casual players.

Traffic

The traffic is respectable and goes above 10,000 players during peak hours. Pacific is capable of big things and is one of the few poker networks to show significant growth in 2011. Watch this space!

Safety

We always advise iPokerVIP players to stick to brand names that can be trusted. The Pacific network strongly opposes flat rakeback and if you come across one of these deals, they do not justify putting your bankroll at risk. Although the network is home to some great brands, they have given licences to less well known companies who have proven themselves to be untrustworthy in the past, so stick with iPokerVIP promoted rooms!
